jogging stroller question-older child and newborn?
I really want to know and no one answered last time I posted this. If a double jogger has a weight limit of say 100# and I have a newborn and an older 33# child, can I put them both in there or will this make it too hard to steer due to uneven weight of the children?
I need to know whether I should just buy a single jogger and put the other in a drop in day care when I run in the mornings or if i can take them both along. Anyone who has tried this please let me know. Thank you!!
Until 6 months old it's dangerous to run with a newborn in a jogging stroller. The instructions say never to do it. So I'd say that with the newborn, put the newborn into the daycare until he/she's 6 months at least.
As for uneven weight distribution, they're supposed to be designed to handle that. I'd check out this site it seems to have a lot of reviews and something they talk about is whether it pulls to the side. The thing to remember also is that if it's a 3 wheel jogger with a fixed front wheel (even if it swivels then they have to be fixed for jogging for safety) then it's not going to pull to the side anyway because there's no wheels to turn so to speak.
Add: Hmm. Didn't know about the insert, only knew that with my jogger it says that it's approved for 2 months up for walking, but then has a huge warning not to run with them under 6 months because of them not having head support enough. Cool that they have that. 
But what I was trying to suggest was to use that time (even if it's the 3-4 months until you can use the insert) to try out different joggers.
Oh, and you can't run with a carrier on either. Again, the head-support issue, added in the fact that if you fell you could hurt the baby, most carriers warn against using them in anything like that. At least that's what I've run into with my carriers. My Ergo definitely warns against it, and my old Infantino warns against it.
If it was just walking, that's what I do. Wear my little one and walk with the older in the stroller. But not for jogging or running.
